Awards Policy

  1. Recipient must be a member in good standing of the Michigan Boxer Club.
  2. Recipient must provide proof of ownership of the dog at the time of completing a title by furnishing a copy of the applicable title certificate.
  3. Only one award per discipline per dog will be furnished by the Club, with the exception of dogs earning Champion status in instinct events, as above. Additional titles, such as a Champion earning a Grand Championship or a dog earning successive performance titles, will be recognized with an addition to the original award. (One Top Twenty award will be furnished for each year the dog qualifies.) In the case of co-ownership, any additional award can be provided at the owner’s request and expense.
    1. Certificates will be awarded to:
      1. Dogs completing performance titles through non-AKC-affiliated organizations.
      2. Dogs completing therapy, service, or instinct certifications, FDC, CGC/CGN, AKC Certificate of Merit, etc.
    2. A medallion plaque will be awarded to:
      1. Dogs titling in AKC or AKC-affiliated instinct events including but not limited to Coursing, Herding, Dock Diving, Tracking, or Barn Hunt.
      2. Dogs completing Canadian Kennel Club Championships.
    3. A titleholder plaque will be awarded to:
      1. Dogs completing AKC Conformation Championships.
      2. Dogs completing AKC Obedience, Rally, or Agility titles.
      3. Dogs achieving Champion status in AKC instinct events.
    4. A minimum $25.00 trophy pledge or trophy of equal value as determined by the Awards chairperson must be made prior to the fall show in the year the dog completes the requirements for the title.
    5. Awards will be given only to Boxers whose titles are confirmed through the appropriate organization. This information must be given (names and dates of shows, points won, etc.) to the Awards chairperson by October 15 to be verified.
    6. Any dog who achieves the title of Sire or Dam of Merit as defined by the American Boxer Club will be awarded a trophy equal to that of an AKC Conformation Champion. The names of the qualifying offspring (seven for Sire, four for Dam) must be submitted by October 15.
    7. A minimum of eight conformation points, 13 Grand Champion points, four qualifying offspring for Sire of Merit, two qualifying offspring for Dam of Merit, or the majority of qualifications toward a certificate or performance or instinct title must be won while the owner is a member of the Michigan Boxer Club in order to qualify for any award.
    8. Any dog owned by a member that qualified for the current year American Boxer Top Twenty competition at the American Boxer Club National Specialty will be awarded a trophy as determined by the Awards chairperson, provided the member owned the dog for the majority of its qualifying wins. The breeder of the dog, if a member of Michigan Boxer Club, will also receive a trophy.
